Safeguard the hospital's assets by ensuring accurate and complete recording of fixed assets.
Provide timely management reports to support the hospital's day-to-day operations.
Maintain proper accounting records for accurate periodic and annual financial reporting, including trial balances, income and expenditure accounts, and balance sheets.
Assist external and internal auditors by providing necessary financial records for assessing the hospital's financial performance.
Submit timely revenue and expenditure reports to the Federal Government.
Ensure prompt collection of all hospital subventions, including capital, overhead, personnel, and special subventions.
Liaise with the Federal Ministries of Health and Finance to ensure timely releases of subventions.
Prepare and defend the annual hospital budget before the Ministries and National Assembly, while monitoring budget performance.
Ensure accurate and timely payment of staff salaries, allowances, and pensions, subject to fund availability.
Ensure all hospital revenue is recorded promptly and expenditures are captured correctly.
Ensure judicious use of resources by making correct contractor payments and complying with financial regulations to prevent revenue loss through withholding tax and VAT.
Ensure prompt payment of taxes, including PAYE, to the relevant government authorities.
