The programme is approved by the Community Health Practitioner Registration Board of Nigeria and is open to only registered Community Health Practitioner with Valid license

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Candidates for two-year HD programme must have a Diploma in Community Health Extension Worker (CHEW) certificate with at least a pass
- Candidates for one year HD programme must have a Diploma in Community Health Extension Worker (CHEW), B.Sc in Public Health, Health Science, Health Education and Human Kinetics or other health related science courses
- Candidates for both programmes must have at least five (5) O Level Credit passes (WAEC, NECO, or GCE, NABTEC) at not more than two sitting which must include; English Language. Mathematics, Biology or Health Science, Physics and Chemistry
ADMISSION PROCEDURES
The admission quota from the Community Health Practitioner Registration Board of Nigeria(CHPRBN) is 80 CHO students (50 for two year programme while 30 for one year). However, forms for the Entrance Examination into the College are sold every year from April to June. The entrance and oral interviews takes place in July. Final selection is based on merit and successful candidates are expected to resume training in the College in the first week of September every year.
Sales of admission forms are directly through remita into the provided UCTH account-Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) number. This can be paid to any commercial Bank. Upon presentation of the Remita receipt, forms are issued to the prospective candidate. The prospective candidates after admission into the college are expected to submit two attestation letters to the College Admission Officer and after which proceed to the payment of acceptance fee as amount to be paid is always decided by the Hospital management. The admitted candidates are also expected, upon resumption, to submit all their credentials including valid license with four recent passport size photographs. They are also expected to pay for their verification with the appropriate examination bodies which is done by the College. Admission offer lasts for a period of two weeks and the chance (vacancy) given to candidates on the waiting list of the expiration of the waiting period, the management may have no choice than to replace the candidate.
